Overall, this excursion provides a fascinating and educational experience for guests to explore the ancient wonders of Egypt with the guidance of a skilled tour guide.

Day 3 – Old Cairo

An 8-hour guided excursion of Cairo is available, beginning with a pickup time of 8:00 a.m. from your hotel. Accompanied by a knowledgeable Egyptologist tour guide, you will be treated to a fantastic orientation tour of the city’s significant monuments in Old Cairo. The tour includes visiting the Saladin Citadel, constructed by Salah al-Din on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD, as a defence against Crusader armies. The citadel is renowned for its fresh air and sweeping views of Cairo and is now a preserved historic site of mosques and museums, including the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha.

Designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq, who travelled specifically from Istanbul to build the great building, the mosque’s alabaster structure stands in contrast to the sandstone city. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Old Cairo, followed by a visit to see the major attractions of Old Cairo, including the Hanging Church, the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo.

The tour will conclude with a visit to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East. As the centre of Cairo’s trading activities since the 14th century, the bazaar is a maze of alleys waiting to be explored. Overnight stay in Cairo is included.

Day 4 – Wadi El Hitan

Our service offers an exceptional opportunity to visit Wadi Al Hitan, a natural heritage site and protected area 80 kilometres southwest of Cairo in the Western Desert. We provide pickup service from your Cairo hotel and transfer via air-conditioned car to the El Fayoum Oasis. From there, we take you on a Toyota land cruiser 4×4 to explore the wonders of Wadi Al Hitan. This open museum dates back 45 million years and contains petrified early whale skeletons, shark teeth, shells, and roots of Mangroves preserved in soft rocks. The area also boasts an array of petrified sea shells and corals.

Wadi Al Hitan is known for its Zeuglodon Valley, where scientists discovered the area’s whale fossils. In 2005, UNESCO added Wadi Al Hitan to its prestigious list of world heritage sites. Visitors to Wadi Al Hitan are encouraged to visit the Fossil & Climate Change Museum, which features whale fossils, skeletons, fossilised mangroves, and ancient seashells exhibited indoors in glass boxes.

After your tour, you will enjoy lunch before departing for Tunis village, which is 69.2 kilometres from Wadi Al-Hitan. From there, we will return to Cairo, passing through Wadi El Rayan and Mudawara Mountain. Our arrival in Cairo is scheduled for 19:00, where you will spend the night. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to explore one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders.

Day 5 – the white desert

The scheduled pickup time is 07:00 from your hotel to Bahariya Oasis, approximately 350 km east. This journey typically takes around 4 hours and will be facilitated by a 4×4 Jeep. Upon arrival at El Haize Oasis, lunch will be served at this quaint location, then exploring the renowned White Desert National Park. This location is known for its unique and stunning rock formations, which the wind has carved into shapes resembling giant mushrooms and pebbles. As the sun sets, we will arrive at the White Desert, where our bedouin staff will arrange dinner and desert camping for your comfort and convenience.

Day 6 – Bahariya Oasis

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a desert breakfast followed by a drive to Bahariya Oasis. During the return journey, a stop at Black Mountain is recommended before continuing to Crystal Mountain to view the quartz crystals and the rocky formations in the Valley of Agabat. Accommodations will be available for guests to rest and refresh with a shower before returning to Cairo. Guests will fly to Aswan the following day for an overnight stay.

Day 7 – Aswan attractions

Following breakfast, we recommend visiting the Aswan attractions. The Phiala Temple, constructed in approximately 690 BC, is a final example of the classical Egyptian style and was built to honour the goddess Isis. This temple was one of the last outposts where the goddess was worshipped.

Another notable attraction is the Aswan High Dam, a rock-fill dam at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. Fed by the River Nile, the dam’s reservoir forms Lake Nasser. The project was initiated in 1960 and completed in 1968, with its official inauguration in 1971.

The Northern Quarries in Aswan are the source of ancient Egypt’s excellent granite, used to make statues and embellish temples, pyramids, and obelisks. The Unfinished Obelisk in the area has provided valuable insight into the construction of these monuments. Although the construction process remains unclear, the nearly 42m long shaft’s three sides were completed, except for the inscriptions. The completed obelisk would have weighed 1168 tonnes, making it the single heaviest piece of stone the Egyptians ever fashioned.

We suggest taking a lunch break during the trip at noon.

Day 8 – Abu Simbel trip

Transportation will be provided from your hotel in Aswan at 04:00, in an air-conditioned vehicle, to the temples of Abu Simbel. The journey will take approximately three hours, allowing you to avoid the day’s heat. These two temples were carved out of the mountainside during the 13th century B.C. by Pharaoh Ramesses II. Upon arrival, you will be accompanied by an Egyptologist guide who will provide an in-depth understanding of the life and times of one of the most fascinating pharaohs in Egyptian history. The Great Temple of Ramesses II is famous for its impressive main façade and four statues of the pharaoh seated on his throne, depicting his advancing age. Despite being dedicated to Amon-Re Horakhty and Ptah, the temple was constructed for the greater glory of its builder, Ramses the Great. Adjacent to the Great Temple is the smaller temple of Ramesses’ consort, Queen Nefertari, which is equally impressive and features a rock-cut façade depicting the pharaoh and his queen. After the tour, you will return to Aswan for lunch before continuing your journey to Luxor. Overnight accommodations will be provided in Luxor.

Day 9 – The valley of the kings

Following breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on a guided tour of the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to 20th dynasty. This site boasts well-preserved tombs, including those of the great pharaoh Ramses II and boy pharaoh Tutankhamun, stocked with all the material goods a ruler might need in the afterlife.

Next, you will visit the beautiful and well-preserved Hatshepsut Temple, constructed on three levels with two wide ramps in a central position joining them together. Finally, you will have the opportunity to witness the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III that are the only remains of a complete mortuary temple. These statues were crafted from blocks of quartzite sandstone that were transported 700 kilometres from Cairo to Luxor.

Please note that there are additional costs associated with visiting certain tombs. Specifically, the Tomb of King Tutankhamun costs an extra 300 L.E. per person, Ramesses VI costs an additional 100 L.E. per person, and the Tomb of Seti I costs 1000 L.E. per person.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Luxor. You may attend the optional Sound and Light Show at Karnak in the evening. The show commences with a historical introduction that covers the birth of the great city of Thebes and the erection of the Karnak Temple. It then narrates the glorious achievements of some great Pharaohs, with a poetic description of the artistic treasures and great legacy of the Karnak Temple.

After a day of exciting exploration and cultural immersion, you will spend the night in Luxor.

Day 10 – Karnak temple

Following breakfast, we will arrange for your transportation from your hotel in Karnak to visit the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple. This remarkable temple complex represents an unparalleled feat of architectural achievement by generations of ancient builders and pharaohs, spanning an impressive 247 acres of land. Comprising three main temples, numerous smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples, the Temple of Karnak is the largest complex ever built by humans.

Next, we will visit the Temple of Luxor, which served as the epicentre for the momentous festival of Opet, the most significant celebration of its kind in ancient Egypt. This remarkable temple, constructed by Amenhotep III and Rameses II, was explicitly designed to accommodate the festivities of the festival, which aimed to align the divine and human aspects of the ruling pharaoh.

We will pause for lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor before proceeding to Marsa Alam.
